As a result of urgent anti-corruption measures, representatives of authorities in Jizzakh and Karakalpakstan were caught while illegally receiving bribes in exchange for land and monetary funds. The State Security Service reported this to Zamon.uz.
According to the report, during an inspection conducted jointly by the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies, it was established that the chief specialist of the Zarbdor district administration of Jizzakh region, abusing his official position, received 20 million soums in exchange for officially registering a land plot belonging to a citizen born in 1983 through an auction.
Similarly, during an urgent measure carried out by employees of the State Security Service Directorate for the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the chief specialist of the Khodjeyli district administration and the chief specialist of the district department for veterinary and livestock development were caught while receiving 3 thousand dollars in exchange for officially registering a 41.6-hectare land plot in the name of a farmer.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code for both cases, and investigative actions are being carried out.
