In a video statement on social media, Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobyan, explained that their civil marriage had ended, and that this was not an official divorce at the Civil Registry Office, but rather the conclusion of their life together.
She also stated that she was leaving the government residence and moving to a rented apartment.
The Prime Minister also posted on his page, apologizing to Anna Hakobyan and emphasizing that he respects her decision.
The couple had lived for nearly 30 years without a formal marriage and raised four children to adulthood.
