Today, on February 16, a series of personnel changes were implemented in the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan. The President's press service reported on this.
It is reported that Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Meder Mashiiev, and Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev have been relieved of their positions.
Acting heads have been appointed to the vacant positions: Talantbek Sooltobaev will perform the duties of Minister of Transport and Communications, Akyl Toktobaev will perform the duties of Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, and Urmatbek Shamyrkanov will perform the duties of Minister of Emergency Situations. They will be officially appointed to the positions after being approved by the parliament – the Jogorku Kenesh.
The reasons for these decisions have not been officially disclosed yet. We recall that on February 10, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security – First Deputy Prime Minister Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his post, and following him, a number of first deputies and central directors were also dismissed. On the same day, the State Border Service was also removed from the structure of the State Committee.
