US President Donald Trump announced that the member states of the "Peace Council" have agreed to allocate more than $5 billion for humanitarian aid in the Gaza sector and for the restoration of destroyed infrastructure. The White House leader wrote about this on the Truth Social network.
According to him, this commitment will be officially announced at a meeting in Washington on February 19.
Trump emphasized that the council has achieved the adoption of a plan at the UN Security Council to end the conflict in Gaza, accelerate humanitarian aid, and release hostages. He also noted that Hamas must be fully and swiftly demilitarized.
We remind you that it was previously reported that Israel had signed an agreement to join the initiative, and Russia had expressed its readiness to allocate $1 billion for the restoration of Gaza.
Some countries, however, are delaying the allocation of funds due to disagreements on the issue of disarmament.
