Reports have spread on social networks about the possibility of quarantine being introduced in some preschool education institutions in Tashkent. The Tashkent city department of "Sanepidkomita" gave an official comment on this information.
It notes that the epidemiological situation regarding dangerous infectious diseases that would warrant declaring a quarantine in Tashkent city is currently stable.
"There are no situations that necessitate declaring a quarantine for various diseases (measles, meningitis, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and others) being discussed on social networks. It should be emphasized that cases of influenza and ARVI among the population seasonally increase every year during the winter season.
Therefore, preventive measures are being carried out in educational institutions to protect children's health, such as morning filter (screening) procedures, measuring body temperature, temporarily isolating children with signs of illness, and giving recommendations to parents. It is these filter processes that have been misinterpreted by some citizens as a quarantine," the statement says.
The department of the committee has asked citizens not to trust unconfirmed information spreading on social networks and to rely only on information provided through official sources.
