A man suspected of attempting to set his wife on fire by dousing her with gasoline was detained in the Talas region of Kyrgyzstan. Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reported this, citing the regional police department.
It is reported that on February 5, a 27-year-old woman appealed to the police, reporting a serious case of domestic violence related to her husband that occurred on October 15, 2025. According to her, the man started an argument without reason, kicked her out of the house, and then attempted to set her on fire by dousing her with gasoline.
According to police information, in October of that year, internal affairs authorities received a report of a fire at a residence. The incident was recorded in the fire log, and witnesses were questioned. Initially, the fire was assessed as having been caused by the use of gasoline while lighting a stove. As a result, both the husband and wife suffered burns and were admitted to the intensive care unit. Their condition was serious, so it was not possible to conduct an interrogation at that time.
According to the woman, after the incident, she did not appeal to either relatives or law enforcement agencies for a long time.
After the repeated application, a criminal case was initiated under Article 130 of the Criminal Code (infliction of grievous bodily harm), the suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
