In 2025, the number of passengers using metro services exceeded 286 million
According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee, 286.8 million passengers were transported via the metro during 2025.
This indicator is 6.1 percent higher than in 2024.
It is noted that on average, 785.6 thousand passengers used metro services daily last year.
A steady increase in the number of passengers transported by metro is observed over the years. In particular:
— in 2020 — 38.8 million people,
— in 2021 — 101.8 million people,
— in 2022 — 136.7 million people,
— in 2023 — 172 million people,
— in 2024 — 270.3 million people,
— in 2025 — 286.8 million passengers were transported.
Experts explain this growth by the expansion of metro lines, the reduction of train intervals, and the increase in population.
