An explosion occurred at a restaurant managed by Chinese nationals in the Shahri-Naw area of Kabul. According to city police spokesman Khalid Zadran, the "Islamic State" (ISIS) group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Reports indicate that as a result of the incident, one Chinese citizen and six local residents were killed, and five others were injured. The restaurant served the Chinese Muslim community and was managed by Chinese Muslim Abdul Majid, his wife, and their Afghan partner Abdul Jabbar Mahmood.
ISIS's branch in Afghanistan stated that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said five Chinese citizens were injured in the explosion. Beijing has requested the Afghan government to provide assistance to the injured, ensure the safety of citizens and investments, and conduct a thorough investigation of the incident.
