35 percent of participants stated they were against this, while 18 percent did not choose a definite position.
Jürgen Hardt, a representative of the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag, assessed the issue of boycotting the tournament in such a situation as an excessively drastic measure. For reference, the 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
