At a meeting dedicated to foreign policy and the activities of diplomatic missions, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to create new opportunities for Uzbek citizens within the framework of the seasonal workers program in the USA.

It was noted that last year the US government simplified the procedure for issuing special visas for seasonal workers in the agricultural sector. In this regard, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the USA was instructed to conduct negotiations on including the country in the list of states from which seasonal workers are recruited. This could facilitate the legal and organized work of Uzbeks in the USA in the future.

It was also stated that from now on, the governor of each region should establish direct cooperation with the territories of developed countries that feel a need for labor. This is aimed at organizing labor migration based on specific needs and real orders.

According to the President, from now on, ambassadors will also be responsible for finding high-income jobs abroad and organizing the training of citizens in necessary professions and foreign languages. Furthermore, the importance of signing intergovernmental and interagency agreements on labor migration with Japan, Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Greece, and Oman was noted.

The meeting also reported that since 2017, 16 new diplomatic and consular missions have been opened in foreign countries, bringing their total number to 60, and the number of countries with which diplomatic relations have been established has reached 165.
