A Ukrainian citizen suspected of human organ trafficking has been extradited from Poland to Kazakhstan. This was reported by the publication Zamon.uz.
According to information, this woman was active in an international organized criminal group engaged in the illegal trade of human organs in 2017–2018. According to the investigation materials, the criminal group carried out a total of 56 illegal transactions for the trade of organs from living people.
It has been established that transplantation operations under these deals were performed at healthcare institutions in Kazakhstan. The suspect was arrested in Poland in March of this year.
According to information provided by Polish law enforcement agencies, as a result of the criminal group's activities, a total of 56 citizens of Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Thailand were harmed, and their kidneys were illegally removed.
Investigative actions regarding this case are currently ongoing.
