Cases of detention are increasing in the Arab Republic of Egypt due to intensified control over foreign citizens, including citizens of Uzbekistan. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt officially announced this.

It is noted that recently the number of appeals related to Uzbek citizens detained by local law enforcement agencies has increased at the embassy. Negotiations are being held with the competent authorities of Egypt regarding these cases.

According to information from Egyptian officials, inspections have been intensified in Cairo and other major cities regarding compliance with migration legislation and public order rules. In particular, administrative measures, including deportation, are being applied against foreign citizens who are illegally staying in the country's territory, do not have valid documents, or have violated public order.

In this regard, Uzbek citizens in Egypt are strongly advised to comply with local legal requirements, always carry identification documents, have a valid visa or residence permit, and strictly avoid unauthorized labor activity.

In case of detention by local authorities, citizens are asked to contact the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo as soon as possible.
