According to the results of the next control measures carried out by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, 29 issues related to the stability of the banking and financial system were discussed and sharp measures were taken against a number of credit organizations.
The meetings reviewed 17 issues related to licensing and permitting processes. 4 applications for amending the charter documents of credit organizations and 3 applications for owning shares in the charter fund were analyzed. Also, a certificate granting the right to conduct audits in banks was presented to one auditor. 9 issues regarding candidates for bank supervisory board and other management members were also considered.
During the reporting period, 12 issues regarding compliance with financial discipline and legislative requirements were studied. According to inspection results, fines were applied to 188 entities that violated existing requirements. Among those penalized are 20 banks, 89 microfinance organizations, and 79 pawnshops.
In addition, official warnings were issued to another 17 banks that violated prudential norms. It was emphasized that these measures are aimed at preventing risks in the financial system and protecting consumer rights.
