In 2024, 1,875 persons were convicted for crimes related to the cultivation of banned crops under Article 270 of the Criminal Code. The majority of them were sentenced to punishments not related to deprivation of liberty.
It is reported that of the 1,875 persons convicted under this article last year, 258 were deprived of their liberty. The remaining 1,617 persons were subjected to punishments not related to deprivation of liberty, such as fines, corrective labor, restriction of liberty, and suspended sentences. Also, compulsory medical measures were applied to 8 persons.
During the 11 months of the current year, 1,748 persons who committed the crime provided for in Article 270 of the Criminal Code were convicted. Of these, 191 were deprived of their liberty, while 1,557 persons were sentenced to punishments such as fines, compulsory community service, corrective labor, restriction of liberty, and suspended sentences.
It is noted that this year, compulsory medical measures have also been applied to 4 persons.
