The number of over-the-counter medicines in Uzbekistan is 11,825. This was reported by Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Network.

According to him, 4,971 types of medicines imported into the country are produced exclusively for Uzbekistan. The largest share of medicines is imported from India.

"One medicine is being imported under 82 different names. This situation has also enabled the formation of corruption schemes," said Azizov.
