Saudi Arabia is implementing a new law for foreign workers and specialists: non-Muslim residents will be able to purchase alcohol based on a special permit .
Sales will be conducted only for personal consumption and in specially designated stores. Consumption in public places remains strictly prohibited.
This step is being taken within the framework of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" reforms, aiming to gradually open up society, improve conditions for expatriates, and develop tourism.
Expatriates are supporting this, while the conservative community is observing with caution. However, the government states that the entire process will be under strict control.
