According to the report from the Department of Rapid Search of the Ministry of Internal Affairs here, as part of the large-scale preventive measure "Safe and Healthy Country," first-year students of a higher education institution engaged in drug courier activities were detained.
According to a video clip that spread on social networks on December 4 of this year, one of these students is being apprehended by rapid response officers, and a video recording taken by a citizen passing through the area at the time the statement was being formalized is widely circulated.
During the rapid operation conducted in the Yashnabad district, when 2 students were examined with the participation of witnesses, 120 grams of synthetic drug Alpha-PVP were officially seized in a procedural manner from their side.
The rapid operation was continued, and upon inspection of the university dormitory where the student born in 2007 temporarily resides, the presence of 400 grams of synthetic drug Alpha-PVP was discovered.
It is known that these 2 students received these synthetic drugs from given geolocations, packaged them into doses in the university dormitory, and sent them to the specified locations.
As a result of the rapid operations, the illegal trafficking of a total of 520 grams of synthetic drugs, equivalent to 2600 single doses, was prevented.
Regarding this case, the criminal penalty of deprivation of liberty from 10 to 20 years under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been applied to these drug courier students.
The report also states that the "Safe and Healthy Country" rapid operations are continuing with the aim of identifying the source of the synthetic drugs and the remaining criminal accomplices.
