In connection with the recent raids intensified by federal immigration authorities across the United States, Uzbek citizens living in the U.S. and driving cars have been warned about the need to fully arrange their documents and always carry them with them.
According to information, during inspections being conducted on federal highways and other areas, special attention is being paid to the following issues:
- the authenticity of driver's licenses;
- the validity and legality of documents;
- work rights and immigration status;
- the level of English language proficiency of drivers.
As the U.S. government intensifies the fight against illegal migration, federal authorities are actively conducting raids based on broad powers. According to reports, some detained individuals are being questioned for using multiple driver's licenses or on suspicions related to terrorism.
In this regard, compatriots driving cars in the U.S. are strictly requested to adhere to the following:
- arrange all personal documents, including driver's license, documents confirming immigration status, and work rights;
- always carry documents confirming legal status with you.
Furthermore, in case of suspicious, unclear, or problematic situations, it is recommended to immediately contact Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions and consular institutions in the U.S.
