As U.S. President Donald Trump's second presidential term began, the country for the first time imposed sanctions on Russia's largest energy companies — "Rosneft" and "Lukoil".
The restrictions will also apply to subsidiary enterprises in which these companies hold a 50 percent or greater stake.
According to experts, these sanctions also increase the risk of secondary sanctions for foreign firms that cooperate with these companies and import oil and oil products.
