Luxury cars belonging to the former president of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, were put up for sale at an auction held in Damascus. Among them are special models from famous brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz.
According to a "Ynetnews" report, the proceeds from the auction will be directed to the Syria Development Fund.
Syria's new president, Ahmad al-Sharaa, is also expected to participate in the auction.
In the initial stage, the following three supercars were put up for sale:
Ferrari F50 — valued at 3–4 million dollars, only 349 units were produced. With a 4.7-liter, 520 horsepower V12 engine, it reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds;
Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series — has 670 horsepower, 300 units were produced, priced around $500,000;
Audi R8 (first generation) — a supercar with a 525 horsepower V10 engine.
Assad, who fled to Russia, left behind a collection of dozens of cars worth approximately 20 million dollars.
It is planned to also put other rare models such as the Ferrari F12 TDF, Lamborghini Countach, and Mercedes 600 W100 up for sale in the future.
