Uzbekistan sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

Food products, medicine, and medical supplies totaling nearly 300 tons were delivered to Balkh province in the name of the people of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, humanitarian aid was sent as a symbol of the generosity and compassion characteristic of our people for the residents of Kunar and Nangarhar provinces. Nearly 300 tons of cargo, consisting of food products, medicines, and medical supplies, were delivered to Balkh province on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan.

A ceremony for handing over the humanitarian aid was held on the territory of the "Astras" company in the city of Hayraton. The event was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev, the Governor of Surkhandarya region Ulugbek Kasimov, the Deputy Governor of Balkh province Nurulhodi Abu Idris, and officials from both sides.

The dispatched aid included wheat, rice, sugar, canned food, pasta and confectionery products, oil, instant meals, red beans and mung beans, bottled drinking water, 5 thousand blankets, and over 10 tons of medicines and medical supplies.

Afghan officials expressed deep gratitude to the President and people of Uzbekistan for such humanitarian assistance.
