56-year-old experienced coach Paulo Bento did not accept the offer to lead the Uzbekistan national team. This was reported by the Portuguese publication "A Bola".

According to reports, the specialist participated in negotiations with the Uzbekistan Football Association, but the terms offered did not meet the level expected for the next stage of his career. For this reason, Bento rejected the offer.

We recall that Bento was the head coach of the Portugal national team from 2010 to 2014 and the South Korea national team from 2018 to 2022.

He ended his work with the UAE national team in March of this year.

Currently, the Uzbekistan national team is participating in the "CAFA Nations Cup" competition and the team is temporarily led by Timur Kapadze.
