On August 27, at a ceremony held in Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev officially laid the foundation for the construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan. This complex will be one of the largest museums being built for the first time in the country's history.

The new National Museum project was developed by Japan's "Tadao Ando Architect & Associates" and Germany's "Atelier Brückner" architecture companies.

Construction work will be carried out by China's "CCCE International Construction" company.

The main features of the museum:

It will consist of a 3-story building and a 2-story basement;

It has a design that combines Eastern and Western architecture;

Total area of more than 40,000 square meters;

Up to 10,000 exhibits will be displayed at the same time;

Conference halls, a library, children's areas, and restaurants will be built on an area of 4,000 sq.m.

As the President emphasized, this museum will become a modern center of science, education, and culture to present the three-thousand-year historical heritage to the general public, including an international audience. At the same time, it will have the opportunity to establish cooperation with the Louvre, the Metropolitan, and the British Museum.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the ceremony:

"This museum will serve our people and future generations. Through it, we will show the world our history, our culture, and our priceless treasures."

Once operational, the museum, together with the Abulqosim Madrasah, the Palace of Friendship of Peoples, and the National Garden in the center of Tashkent, will form a new cultural and educational center—a hub for thematic tourism.

At the end of the ceremony, the head of state placed a capsule at the museum's foundation and officially launched the construction.
