According to explanations provided by the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, cases of fraud against students arriving in the capital at the start of the new academic year are increasing. Such cases are often committed by scammers on the internet. Namely, they post advertisements for cheap rental housing online, presenting themselves as homeowners.
As a result, students and their relatives agree to reserve the house offered by the scammers or pay two months' rent in advance. However, once the payment is made, the scammers cut off contact and block the students and their relatives on social networks.
To prevent the above situations, the Department of Internal Affairs advised parents and students not to share personal information with anyone, not to make payments without seeing the house or signing a rental agreement.
