According to the "Life Tables" report for 2022–2024 published by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the average life expectancy at birth in the country is 78.1 years. This indicator has increased compared to the previous period.
For women, the expected lifespan is 80.7 years, while for men, this figure is 75.5 years. For a person who has reached 65 years of age, it is estimated that they have an average of 18 years of life remaining.
Additionally, statistical data show that as a person's education level increases, so does their life expectancy. A 30-year-old with higher education can live, on average, 5 years longer than those with lower than secondary education.
The healthy life expectancy is estimated at an average of 57.6 years. Interestingly, in this regard, men (58.9 years) are noted to have a longer healthy life expectancy than women (56.3 years).
