With the assistance of Uzbekistan's diplomats, our compatriot suffering from a severe illness in Croatia was repatriated to his family today.

According to information from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Budapest, our compatriot V.J. arrived in Croatia in 2022 for temporary work. On April 18, 2025, his health deteriorated sharply, and he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a clinical hospital center in Rijeka with a diagnosis of stroke. During this period, he underwent necessary surgical procedures.

As a result of negotiations with foreign partners and with the assistance of Uzbekistan's competent authorities, V.J. was first transported to Germany under medical supervision and in compliance with medical requirements. Subsequently, he was repatriated to Uzbekistan via a Munich-Tashkent flight accompanied by a resuscitation specialist.

It is worth emphasizing that protecting the rights and interests of our compatriots abroad is one of the key priorities of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, and efforts in this direction continue systematically.
