North Korea has delivered over 12 million artillery shells to Russia during the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the Yonhap agency, citing a report prepared by South Korea's military intelligence.

According to recent data, the number of military cargo containers sent by the DPRK to Russia has exceeded 28,000. These containers were primarily filled with 152mm caliber ammunition.

According to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's military intelligence, half of the large-caliber shells in the Russian army today are produced by North Korea.

At the beginning of the war, Russia complained about a "shell shortage," and since then, it has been observed deepening its alliance with the DPRK in this regard.

In 2024, Moscow and Pyongyang signed a strategic partnership agreement envisaging military cooperation.

Under the agreement, the parties are obliged to provide military assistance. Additionally, Pyongyang is planning to send between 25,000 and 30,000 soldiers in the coming months to support Russia's offensive operations in Ukraine.

Russian officials, however, have not openly confirmed these military ties.
