A group of teachers dissatisfied with the certification results sued the Ministry of Preschool and School Education. According to "Public Education Info", they filed a lawsuit demanding the re-conduction of certification exams, compensation for moral damages and legal expenses.
Why did the issue go to court?
In Uzbekistan, from April 15 to May 14, certification test exams for educators were conducted.
Close to 190,000 educators applied online to participate in these professional competency exams, of which 177,640 or 95 percent of all applicants took part in the process.
According to the certification results, 10,504 educators scored enough points for the highest category, 23,200 educators for the first category, and 27,805 educators for the second category, recording positive outcomes.
Additionally, 6,603 educators retained their specialist positions. In total, over 73,000 educators showed positive results. However, close to 104,000 (58.9 percent) educators did not pass the certification.
What are a group of educators dissatisfied with?
During the ongoing certification tests, social networks spread news reflecting some subject teachers' dissatisfaction with test questions appearing in the certification.
The Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education, Sardor Rajabov, reminded that if test takers are not satisfied with their score or consider the given question to be beyond the specification, or if they believe there is an error, they must submit an appeal.
However, nearly identical responses were sent by the appeal commission to the complaints of teachers dissatisfied with the certification results. This caused various objections from the educators.
