During operational activities conducted by the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies, fraudsters who promised to send citizens on the "Hajj" pilgrimage were detained. This was reported to "Darakchi.uz" by the press service of the State Security Service.
It is noted that an employee of a tourist firm operating in the city of Tashkent - a person born in 1997 was detained while receiving 12,800 US dollars from two citizens living in the Bayavut district of the Syrdarya region in exchange for sending them to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage.
During the pre-investigation check, it was established that two other employees of the firm, born in 1980 and 1994, also gained the trust of citizens and established a mechanism for fraudulently embezzling money by promising to send them on pilgrimage.
In connection with this situation, a criminal case was initiated under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of detention was applied to two suspects.
Also, in another operational event held in the Fergana region, a resident of the city of Margilan, born in 1986, was detained with material evidence while receiving 11 thousand US dollars from a resident of the Tashlak district in exchange for sending him on a Hajj pilgrimage.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under Article 25, Part 3, Clause "a" of Article 168 of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
Currently, necessary measures are being taken to identify other victims of these crimes and assess the material damage caused to them.
