An engineer from the "Energosavdo" branch was caught while receiving money, having demanded 10 thousand dollars in exchange for reducing the fine.

An engineer from the Fergana branch of the "Energosavdo" subsidiary of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC, exploiting his official position, promised a citizen living in the Uzbekistan district to reduce a 1.8 billion soum fine calculated under an officially documented violation report to 210 million soum.

In exchange, he demanded 10 thousand US dollars.

During an urgent operation conducted by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the engineer was caught while receiving 9 thousand dollars of the requested money through a third party.

A criminal case has now been initiated against him, and "arrest" as a preventive measure has been applied. Investigative actions are ongoing.
