According to the press service of the State Security Service, two shift supervisors and one unit operator at the 3rd Hydrometallurgy Plant, belonging to the Northern Mining Department of the “Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combinat” Joint-Stock Company, conspired to illicitly gain wealth.
With the intention of future plunder, they hid a semi-finished product weighing 2.5 kilograms, containing a large amount of gold, inside an air purification pipe within the plant.
During a rapid operation conducted by the State Security Service of Navoi region in collaboration with the internal affairs agencies, the illegal actions of these individuals, driven by the “Lure of Gold”, were terminated.
According to the relevant conclusion, it was determined that this semi-finished product contained a total of 1 kilogram 523 grams of pure gold, valued at 2 billion 102 million Uzbek soms.
In relation to this case, criminal proceedings have been initiated against these individuals under part 4, paragraph “a” of Article 25, 169 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being conducted.
