The Prosecutor's Office has searched the personal home of South Korea's former president, Yoon Suk Yeol. This action was carried out as part of an investigation into his family members and the controversial Christian pastor, Jeon Seong Bae, according to reports.

Early in the morning, employees and investigators from the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office went to Yoon's residence located in Seoul's Seocho District, attempting to gather potential evidence regarding suspicions related to Jeon Seong Bae (secular name - Han Jin).

Reports indicate that the prosecutor's office is investigating claims that shortly after Yoon's election as president in 2022, a high-ranking official of the United Church presented a diamond necklace and an expensive DIOR bag to Jeon, intending these gifts for the first lady, Kim Keon Hee.

Additionally, the prosecutors are also seeking answers to whether these gifts were indeed delivered to Jeon and subsequently handed over to Kim Keon Hee.

For reference, Yoon Suk Yeol was completely removed from office at the beginning of April. Yoon had unsuccessfully attempted to declare martial law in the country in December 2024, leading the parliament to accuse him of attempting insurrection and to announce impeachment against the head of state.
