A man who climbed the Elizabeth Tower at the Palace of Westminster, famously known as Big Ben, in London was arrested. He was holding a Palestinian flag. Below Big Ben, a group of people gathered, shouting “Freedom for Palestine!”

Emergency service workers tried to negotiate with the man through a megaphone, attempting to convince him to come down. However, he threatened to climb even higher if the rescuers approached, stating he would only come down on his own terms.

Negotiations lasted throughout the day and concluded in the early hours of Sunday. The man was brought down from the tower using a fire brigade ladder. He spent a total of 16 hours atop Big Ben. The man was immediately arrested upon descent.
