An attempt to illegally bring a large amount of narcotics from Kyrgyzstan into Uzbekistan has been thwarted. The incident was recorded in the city of Margilan.
During an operational event conducted by the State Security Service in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and customs authorities, a previously monitored individual, born in 1973 and with a prior criminal record, was apprehended with material evidence at the moment he was receiving 24 kg 475 grams of "hashish."
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him, and a pre-trial restraint measure of detention has been applied. During the investigation, accomplices in the crime are being identified.
