The presidents of Russia and the USA held a telephone conversation, discussing the situation around Iran, negotiations on Ukraine, and the situation on the global oil market.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on the evening of March 9. According to the Kremlin press service, urgent issues on the international agenda were discussed during the conversation.
The main focus of the conversation was on the conflict around Iran, as well as the trilateral negotiations on Ukraine involving US representatives. Putin conveyed his proposals aimed at resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means.
Trump, in turn, assessed the situation within the framework of the military operation being conducted by the US and Israel and emphasized that he is in favor of resolving the conflict more quickly by stopping the shooting in Ukraine.
During the conversation, the two leaders also discussed the issue of Venezuela and the situation on the global oil market. According to the Kremlin, the conversation lasted about an hour and proceeded in a businesslike and constructive spirit.
