On January 28, a Beechcraft 1900 passenger plane crashed in Colombia. As a result, all 15 people on board were killed. This was reported by El País, citing the Joint Command under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Transport.
It is reported that flight HK4709 took off from Camilo Daza Airport in the city of Cúcuta and was headed to Aguas Claras Airport, located in the municipality of Ocaña. The last contact with the plane was lost 12 minutes after takeoff.
The aircraft was last recorded over a mountainous area between the municipalities of Playa de Belén and Hacarí. Subsequently, the airline reported that the plane had run out of fuel and that the emergency locator beacon had not activated.
The wreckage of the plane was found by local residents. According to officials, no survivors were identified at the crash site. Among the passengers was Diógenes Quintero Amaya, a current member of Colombia's Chamber of Representatives.
