According to the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, four individuals linked to the Taftish.uz website have been detained on suspicion of extortion and fraud.
Today, on January 16, four employees of the "Taftish.uz" mass media outlet were detained on suspicion of extortion and fraud. This was reported by the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs.
It is noted that Gayrat Aberayev, born in 1988, and employees of "Taftish.uz" — Azizjon Yuldashev, born in 1992; Sardor Hamidov, born in 2000; Marjona Eshquvvatova, born in 2006; and Dilshod Nishonov, born in 1998 — have been detained in accordance with procedural order on suspicion of committing crimes under Article 165 (extortion) and Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Currently, their possible involvement in additional crimes under Article 139 (slander) and Article 244-6 (dissemination of false information) of the Criminal Code is being investigated.
At the same time, it was reported that the information about the closure of the "Taftish.uz" mass media outlet is unfounded, and the publication continues its daily activities. It was stated that additional information regarding the situation will be provided.
