A court decision was issued regarding the case of citizens slaughtering and consuming a dog in Yangiyo‘l city, Tashkent region. The case was reviewed on January 12 of this year in the Yangiyo‘l district criminal court.

According to the "Mehr va Oqibat" animal protection society, the identity of the offenders was established by internal affairs bodies. Reportedly, four citizens living in Yangiyo‘l city participated in the incident: one of them held the dog, the second slaughtered it, and the third skinned it. The fourth citizen cut the dog meat into pieces and consumed the prepared kebab together with others.

According to the court decision, three citizens were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan — for cruel treatment of animals, and sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention. The fourth person was not prosecuted.
