Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US peace plan envisions 15-year security guarantees, but Kyiv wants to extend this term to 50 years. This was reported by Zamon.uz.
According to Zelenskyy, in a personal meeting with Trump, he requested long-term guarantees to be established on the basis of a mechanism similar to NATO's Article 5.
He also emphasized that a ceasefire of at least 60 days is necessary for Ukraine's peace plan to be supported via a referendum. Negotiations with Russia regarding Donbas and other territories are still ongoing.
The Kremlin, in response to Zelenskyy's position, reiterated that Ukraine must abandon Donbas and indicated that a telephone conversation with Trump is being planned.
