This decision was made as a result of the sharp deterioration of relations with Russia by Warsaw.
According to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, the activity permit for Russia's Consulate General in Gdańsk has been revoked.
This consulate was one of the only remaining Russian consular offices on Polish territory, and with its closure, all Russian consulates general have ceased operations in Poland.
Warsaw stated that the decision was made in connection with railway sabotage acts occurring in the country, while Moscow described this step as "groundless and hostile."
We recall that Poland had previously also closed Russia's Consulates General in Poznań and Kraków, so now services will be provided only through the consular section of the embassy in Warsaw.
