Reports have circulated on social media about agricultural products from China being unreasonably detained at the border. The Agency for Quarantine and Protection of Plants has issued an official comment on the situation causing the discussions.
According to it, a new sample certificate has been approved, based on an agreement with the Chinese General Administration of Customs, aimed at preventing product imports through the use of counterfeit phytosanitary certificates.
The new certificate stipulates the condition of indicating the product's marking number in accordance with the relevant international standard. The authenticity of phytosanitary certificates will be verified through China's "E-Cert" electronic system, which ensures the process is transparent and swift.
At the same time, a separate register has been formed for mandarin products imported from this foreign country, confirming the phytosanitary safety of the relevant regions.
The comment states that for imported mandarins, the certificate must indicate the registered number of the supplier's orchard and the registered number of the packaging enterprise.
