Starting January 1, 2025, foreign citizens entering the territory of Georgia will be required to have mandatory medical insurance.

According to the new rule, an insurance policy of at least $5,000 for outpatient care and $30,000 for inpatient care—including accidents, sudden illnesses, and medical evacuation—will be required.

Those who fail to present an insurance policy will be considered violators and may be fined 300 lari (approximately $110) or denied entry into the country.
