According to the AIB, on December 2, a gas explosion occurred at the "Bek Family Cafe" restaurant located in the "Taraqqiyot" neighborhood due to non-compliance with safety rules, resulting from a leak from a 50-liter propane gas cylinder. As a result of the incident, 29 citizens were hospitalized with burn injuries, and 3 people died.
At the same time, while some of the patients have been discharged home, qualified medical assistance is being provided to the rest.
Regarding this situation, a criminal case has been initiated under several articles of the Criminal Code. Three officials of "Bek Family Cafe" LLC have been detained as suspects in accordance with procedural order. Previously, it was reported that only one person had been arrested.
The situation has been placed under special control by order of the President. A government commission was formed on December 3, and on December 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured and instructed to provide material assistance to the families of the deceased. 100 million soums will be allocated to each victim's family.
