At the ceremony held on December 3, the head of state outlined priority tasks for increasing production and exports and reducing costs in the chemical industry. Plans are in place to double the sector's volume by 2030 and significantly expand mineral fertilizer production.

Currently, 21 projects worth $1 billion are being implemented, and initiatives worth another $4.5 billion have been formed.

The ceremony noted that outdated capacities at some large enterprises are increasing energy consumption, resulting in a decline in product cost-effectiveness and competitiveness.

It was particularly emphasized that more than half of the cost of nitrogen fertilizers is directly related to energy expenses.

The importance of introducing energy-saving technologies, digitalizing processes, and reducing costs in the sector was stated.

This year, projects for producing high value-added chemical products were launched in Tashkent, Navoi, and Jizzakh.

Based on the plan to produce 4.5 million tons of cotton next year, the task was set to form a reserve of phosphate fertilizers and fully supply producers with sulfuric acid. It was also noted that the process of allocating preferential loans to farmers needs to be accelerated.

The President assessed the chemical industry as a strategic sector and gave instructions to ensure domestic market stability, increase exports, and create new jobs.
