The Competition Committee's Khorezm Regional Directorate conducted a study on the procedure for providing paid services in medical institutions and identified a number of legal violations.

During the inspections covering the period of 2023-2024 and up to July 1, 2025, cases of unjustified charging of fees were recorded in the Yangibozor and Gurlan district medical associations.

It is known that:

The Yangibozor District Medical Association provided services worth nearly 2 billion soums to about 39 thousand consumers;

The Gurlan District Medical Association provided services worth almost 3 billion soums to about 120 thousand patients.

During the study, it was found that additional taxes were added to service prices, and the costs of medicines and medical supplies not actually used by patients were also included in the total bill. Through this, over 230 million soums were unjustly collected from nearly 160 thousand consumers.

A special commission of the Regional Directorate initiated cases against the two district medical associations and issued mandatory instructions to them:

to return the unjustly collected funds to consumers;

to strictly comply with legal requirements in the future.
