A criminal case has been opened against a deputy district head in Fergana. The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported this.
Videos have been circulating on social networks about the illegal cutting down of trees in the Fergana region and the resistance shown by the deputy district head to an inspector of the Ecology Committee during this process.
This situation was studied by the Prosecutor's Office of the Fergana region with the participation of the relevant authorities.
It was established that on November 25 of this year, S.Kh., the deputy head of the Buvayda district for construction, creating a barrier-free environment, communications, utilities, ecology, and landscaping, while being an official, exceeded his official authority. Upon learning that trees around the Naiman canal passing through the "Naiman" neighborhood of Buvayda district were being cut down by a worker of "D.S." LLC, he actively resisted the lawful demands of an inspector from the Buvayda district department of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, who was taking measures to prevent it. He forced the inspector to cease performing his official duties, took him away from the scene, and caused serious damage to state and public interests.
Regarding this situation, a criminal case has been initiated against S.Kh. and others under Article 206, Part 1 (Exceeding authority or official powers), Article 219, Part 2 (Resistance to a government representative or a person performing a civic duty), and Article 198, Part 2 (Damage or destruction of crops, forests, trees, or other plants) of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are being carried out.
The investigation of the criminal case has been personally taken under control by the Prosecutor General.
