The DOGE department, established by U.S. President Donald Trump to simplify government and reduce costs, has been officially abolished. Zamon.uz reported on this.

According to OPM Director Scott Couper, the department no longer "exists as a centralized structure," and many of its functions have been transferred to the Office of Personnel Management.

A number of specialists who worked within DOGE are now operating under the National Design Studio, led by Joe Gebbia, and are working on developing government websites.

Although the project had previously promised to save billions of dollars, independent experts stated that these figures could not be verified.

Trump and his apparent partner, Elon Musk, had actively promoted the initiative. Musk's act of holding up a chainsaw at a conference as a symbol of "cutting" bureaucracy was noted as a notable event.

Despite the closure of DOGE, most of the employees who worked in the structure have moved to other federal agencies. It was also noted that similar local models are still being implemented in some states under Republican leadership.
