According to the new norm, liability for creating deepfakes has been established. The "Orda" publication reported on this.
For information, a deepfake is synthetic content created by artificially placing a real person's face, voice, or movements onto other photo, video, or audio material using artificial intelligence technologies.
According to the law, producers and users of AI products are considered liable based on their role in using the system. Similarly, content prepared with the assistance of artificial intelligence must be specially labeled.
At the same time, owners of AI systems will also be responsible for security and risk management. The creation and use of systems in the territory of Kazakhstan that allow the use of manipulative methods or the collection or processing of personal data in a manner contrary to the laws is prohibited.
According to "Forbes", the document signed by Tokayev also regulates the circulation of unsecured digital assets in the country. Previously, the circulation of such assets was only permitted in the territory of the "Astana" International Financial Center.
