According to the State Security Service, a senior inspector of the mobile tax audit department of the Tashkent regional tax administration, exploiting his official position, extorted a bribe from a farm operating in the city of Angren.
He demanded 5 thousand US dollars from the head of the farm in exchange for a "positive resolution" of the ongoing tax audit and for ensuring that the farm would not be re-audited by tax authorities for one year.
During an operational event conducted in the Ohangaron district by employees of the Department under the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office, the inspector was caught red-handed while receiving the money.
A criminal case has now been initiated against him under Part 2 of Article 210 (Bribe-taking) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
