Today, on October 31, the Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, congratulated the Director-General of UNESCO on being awarded the "Dustlik" (Friendship) Order. She wrote about this on her social media page.

"I was pleased to attend the sincere and friendly meeting between our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay in Samarkand yesterday.
Our head of state presented the "Dustlik" Order to Ms. Azoulay for her immense contribution to developing cooperation in the fields of science, education, culture, and mass media, as well as supporting initiatives to preserve our country's cultural heritage.
I sincerely congratulate Audrey Azoulay on this high award and well-deserved recognition," she writes.

For reference, the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference is being held in Samarkand. This conference lasts from October 31 to November 13.
